Dear Yuletide Writer,
I’ve had a year away from Yuletide because you know, life sucks on occasion, but I’ve loved doing it in the past and I really wanted to participate again. I’m especially excited to read what you’ve written as I’m absolutely confident that it’ll be AWESOME.

What follows are simply some suggestions for things I like and don’t like but don’t feel like these are the only things that you are obliged to do, write something that makes you happy, that you’re excited to write because I’ll be just as excited to read it!
Likes:
Characters: I’m more of a character driven person than a plot one (plot is good but characters are better), so I’d be really excited to see stories that explored some unknown aspects of a character I love. Or just more focus on something that was brought up but never addressed again.
Angst: I’ve had a real thing for some good angst lately. It doesn’t have to be totally depressing but I love some serious undertones, even if there is a happy ending.
Fluff: What can I say? I’m a person of opposites but I do love me some good teeth rotting sweetness every now and again.
F/F: This is something a little bit more modern for me, even though I’ve always liked it, lately I’ve been seeking out stories with a good strong F/F romance at their core. Especially if there’s some serious fluff or excitement to it. [Should there be someone in a three piece suit there might be cookies for you]
Surprise: If you can surprise me in anyway I’ll be exceptionally grateful. It doesn’t have to be something big but some awesome literary reference or obscure knowledge or a three piece suit, are all wonderful and I would be very grateful for them.
Dislikes:
AU: I’m not a great fan of alternate universes, but canon divergence or extension are totally cool. I’d just like to keep somewhat within the original setting.
PWP: I need story, it’s my crack. So sexy times are good but plot is super important.
Violence/Gore: I work with dead people so I’m not squeamish but at the same time, this doesn’t appeal to me in anyway.
ABO: This just isn’t me, I can’t really explain it but I’m not overly fond of stories that follow this theme.
DNWs:
Noncon/dubcon: If one party involved in sexy times does not consent to something, I will not read it under any circumstances.
Underage: Much like above, if one or both parties is underage, it's a definite no in my books.
Vore: Nope. Just nope.
Bodily fluids: See above.
A Simple Favour (2018)
Characters: Emily and Stephanie
The whole vibe of this movie was exactly what I’ve been waiting for in a movie lately. Having said that I would love to see an alternate take on the ending, one that preferably ended with Emily and Stephanie together, a bit Bonnie and Clyde style. It doesn’t have to be an ending either, I really love the idea of these two together so go with your heart on this one, what manner would you think they’d end up together or be together if it doesn’t last?
Bonus points and cookies for focusing on Emily’s amazing suits!
Press Gang
Characters: Lynda and Spike
Now I do realise I mentioned some angst up above as something I’d like, but with these two, there’s so much angst in their relationship I’d love to see something fluffier. Something where the weight of their worlds wasn’t weighing on them so heavily. Something happy for the two of them because I feel like that was always off screen and we never really got to see it.
Maybe even an alternate take to the scene where Spike tells Lynda he loves her? Or the one where they’re reunited on the kids show in series four?
Cowboy Bebop
Characters: Spike
I have two lists into which anime is sorted, and Cowboy Bebop sits at the top of my ‘All time most soul destroying’ list, and most of that is to do with the final episode and Spike’s speech. Having said that I’d love some background to Spike’s speech to Faye in the final episode, what made him feel like he wasn’t living his life anymore? What made him so detached? He mentions one possibility but is that all it is?
Howl Series
Characters: Sophie and Howl
Honestly I would love to see Howl chuck the biggest tantrum ever if one day Sophie manages to be a better wizard than he is. Or over time does Howl’s prima donna ways impact Sophie at all, does she one day accidentally dye her hair blue and throw a fit over it? I’d love to see something light and fluffy for these two but honestly, anything with this pairing would make me unbelievably happy.
The Road to El Dorado
Characters: Miguel and Tulio
That quite infamous line:
‘You fight like my sister.’
‘I’ve fought your sister, that’s a compliment!’
I need some backstory because that’s one of the greatest lines in any movie ever.
All these things I’ve suggested here are just that: suggestions. Please don’t feel that you are in anyway constrained by them (other than the DNWs obviously), what I want most is for you to have a fantastic time writing a fabulous, sparkly story! I’m so very happy to be back doing Yuletide and I’m so excited to read your story.
