Dear Yuletide Writer

This is my first year doing this, so I'm both excited and a bit nervous (not because of you, as I'm sure you'll be awesome!). I even now have a shiny login on AO3 as lordbeatrice! I've been told by a friend that I've been a little bit specific in my requests, but I don't want you to feel like you're totally constricted by what I've put here.

Likes

Crossovers - I read a lot of crossover fic so I'm always happy for crossovers. Having said that, I usually prefer ones where they're a believable crossover, I don't like them simply for the sake of having one.

Sensory descriptions - As I'm sure you can gather from below, I like a lot of things that describe sensory experiences, so sight, taste, sound, touch and smell.

Characters - I'll generally forgive nearly anything if I like the characters that I'm reading, I'm especially partial to characters that are spectacularly loyal. Having said that, I don't like fics where the character does something particularly OOC, I'd like it to be within the realm of what they might do in canon.

Dislikes

Underage - I won't read anything where the characters are underage in a sexually explicit situation, so I'd really prefer not to have anything which includes that.

Violence - I'm also not a big fan of anything that's too violent in nature. I'm not squeamish as such, I simply don't have a taste for anything too violent.

Non-consensual - As with anything underage, I won't read anything where one person involved in a situation where they don't consent to it.

Having said all that, there's only one thing to keep in mind:

Have fun! That's all I really want. I can't wait to see what you'll come up with!

Adele Blanc-Sec

Characters: Adele

I would love something completely fantastic, that's always what I've loved about this film. There's too few pterodactyls flying over Paris and I really need a mummy for a butler.

Speaking of, after she revives her sister, does Adele still have a mummy butler? If so, what problems does that present for her moving forward? Or does it remain as awesome as it should have been?

Perhaps she discovers some other weird thing happening in Paris. A basilisk in the Metro? A poltergeist in Pere Lachaise? A shinigami at a tea house?

I'd love a real focus on Paris, with as much detail as possible about the city and what adventures Adele has there.

Tintin

Characters: Tintin, Haddock

I love the friendship between Tintin and Captain Haddock. They've got such disparate personalities, but they have such strong loyalty and get along so easily. I'd enjoy reading stories in keeping with canon, perhaps a murder victim discovered by the Captain when he is disoriented from drinking leads to an adventure, or perhaps the Professor has invented a teleport machine and this leads Tintin and Haddock somewhere interesting.

If possible I'd love some other characters to pop up. Thomson and Thompson, Professor Calculus, and Snowy. I would enjoy reading some of Snowy's snarky thought bubbles, I loved those. I'd like it if you had a good laugh writing it, I liked Herge's comic timing and humour.

Press Gang

Characters: Lynda and Spike

It's an issue that has bothered me ever since the episode aired: What happened after the fade to black in 'There Are Crocodiles'? Is Lynda alive? Was Spike dreaming? I need closure!
Alternately, moments from any of the episodes where Spike pushes Lynda outside her comfort area. Where he encourages her to be better than she believes she can be. It was one of the most compelling sides to their relationship. I'd love to see that sweet side the two of them shared, but with that snark that they perfected throughout their time together.

A what-if set in a future where everyone lives would be fascinating. I'd love to see how their dynamic changes (and stays the same) when they are older.

Food Wars!

Characters: Any

An emphasis on food, maybe the best thing someone ever tasted or made. Say the meal that Joichiro cooked for Erina, or the food that Soma or Megumi grew up with. What makes them excited or feel at home? What memories or images, do they conjure up?
Food Wars has a real emphasis on the joy of food and I'd love to read something that echoes that. The sensations and tastes that a diner experiences. What it feels like to have your assumptions blown away by a new dish. There's doesn't need to be the overly sexual emphasis that the show had, but I want that joy to be apparent.
If you're not as much of a foodie as me, I'd enjoy reading something about how Erina and Hisako met, or how Isshiki managed to get into the Elite Ten wearing nothing but an apron.

Cowboy Bebop

Characters: Spike Spiegel

In the last episode, we find out Spike at some point in the past, lost an eye and since then has never been convinced that the world he lived in was anything more than a dream. I'd like to see someone expand on that. How did he lose the eye? What was it after that point that made him believe that life wasn't something that was real? Why was living in a dream world more preferable?

I loved the soundtrack and how music influenced the emotional tone of the series, so feel free to let music you like influence the story (and link me to it!) I'd also enjoy reading a stand-alone episode style story focusing on the Bebop's crew or a bounty hunt gone wrong (but when do they ever go right?)

Your Lie in April

Characters: Kousei and Kaori

Music is so important to these characters, I'd love to read something about some music that has influenced their personalities or choices in life. I'd also enjoy seeing how they interpret their world through music. What piece would Kousei liken to Tsubaki, or Watari? What music makes Kousei smile or cry? What does Kaori listen to, on days where everything has become too much? How does music affect their moods and experiences? It would be interesting to see a contrast between how they both use music in their day to day lives, or what pieces they associate with each other and how that reflect their self-image and their feelings.
